Frequently Asked Questions

What is doggy daycare?

Doggy daycare is a service much like a child’s nursery where your dog is provided with a safe, supervised and stimulating environment with other dogs. This is a great option for owners who are out at work or otherwise unable to be with their dog to care for them during the day. Doggy daycare can be helpful for dogs who suffer from separation anxiety or have problems within the home, when left for longer periods.

What happens at doggy daycare?

Your dog will spend a portion of the day with us at our designated premises, designed to replicate a home from home environment. We have both indoor and outdoor space where your dog has access to a safe, secure 2 acre field throughout the day, beds, sofas and plenty of rest spaces. Dogs are socialised in harmonious groups, able to play, exercise and engage in mental stimulation together. Our premises provide a day full of fun with agility courses, obstacles, sniffari and even a play park with a doggy trampoline!

Where are you located?

We are located in Horley, Banbury. We are in a rural setting without public access. The exact location of the premises is provided to owners once their dog is accepted for services.

Do you pick dogs up?

Yes, we provide collection and drop off for our dogs. Transport is subject to location and is included within our contracts and pricing for regular dogs. Transport is provided in our vans which are kitted out with custom, crash tested safety crates with escape doors. We can transport dogs of small, medium and large size subject to availability on our morning and afternoon routes.  Dogs can also be dropped off or collected from the premises by owners where agreed.

How long will my dog be out?

We operate between 8am-5pm on a standard day Monday-Friday. Full day dogs are generally collected between 8am-10am and dropped home between 4pm-5pm. Times are subject to the location of each dog. Half days are collected on the morning route or at lunchtime and dropped home on the afternoon route depending on whether the service is for morning or afternoon. Times may vary due to weather conditions, road access and location of collection.

Does my dog get walked?

We have a dedicated secure 2 acre field all dogs have access to throughout the day. Some dogs may be transported off

the premises for countryside walks in the local area.  This is subject to the dogs breed, temperament, training and behaviour.

Weather conditions are also assessed before dogs are transported off site for walks. We are insured to walk 6 dogs per handler off the premises.

Will my dog be with other dogs?

Yes, your dog will be with other dogs. All of our dogs are assessed for their suitability to mix within the group. We aim to have  harmonious groups where all the dogs are happy and safe around every dog at daycare. Whilst we have separate dogs on different days, it is important to us that all of our dogs can mix safely together. They will have the opportunity to interact, play and walk with a variety of dogs at daycare. Dogs needing a little more space or time alone have separate areas where they can relax without interaction with other dogs. This is available to any dog at any time, but we cannot take dogs with reactivity towards other dogs and are unable to mix safely.

Can my puppy come to daycare?

Yes, puppies can come to daycare once they meet our requirements and are considered suitable for the environment. We can take puppies from 6 months old and require that they are neutered once old enough and in accordance with your vets advice. We cannot take bitches in season. The length of time a puppy is able to spend at daycare will vary based on breed, age, and temperament. These are all discussed and agreed on an individual basis. Where we already have on puppy unneutered, we cannot take another on the same day.

Can you arrange grooming and vet visits?

Yes, we are able to arrange grooming and vet appointments during your dogs time with us. Availability and suitability will depend on the appointment and your dogs individual needs. We have a network with local groomers and vets who we can recommend and arrange visits on your behalf, upon request. You can visit our community tab to find information on other local pet services and products.

How do I get a regular daycare place?

All dogs must complete a meet and greet and several trial days before being accepted for a regular contracted place. Contracts are subject to a probation period where your dog will continue to be assessed. Sometimes, daycare isn’t suitable for particular dogs, the happiness, welfare and safety of all dogs is our main priority and so we sometimes need to adjust services or decline dogs based on these reasons. We will always keep honest communication open with you whilst your dog is under assessment.

What happens if my dog doesn’t get on with another dog?

Each dog's safety and wellbeing is very important to us. We will always carefully consider compatibility within the environment and will make adjustments where necessary to ensure dogs are comfortable and appropriately matched. We have lots of experience introducing new dogs and carefully assess each dog before they join the group. Dogs who struggle to get along with others or resort to conflict, aggression or intimidating behaviour will be assessed and their place reviewed if it affects the safety and wellbeing of the dogs or staff. New dogs who consistently upset or unsettle the group will not be accepted into daycare.

Will my dog have time to rest?

Absolutely! All dogs are encouraged to rest throughout the day and have the option to rest at any point during the day. Puppies, elderly dogs and those with specific medical conditions may be taken to rest more often where appropriate. We have many places for the dogs to choose to take a nap or relax. Throughout the indoor and outdoor space we have provided dog beds, sofas, crates and cosy corners for your dog to find what is most comfortable for them. We have beds at various levels and different sizes, covered areas and separate spaces. Some dogs may be more comfortable resting away from other dogs and so we have various ways to do this.
